Farmers Market Blues

Farmers markets are advertised as the best way to get the freshest produce while helping the local farmers, the environment and save money too. Well I beg to differ. I have had many bad experiences from poor quality to food poisoning. Today I bought "fresh corn" and a box of tomatoes. On the way home I stopped at a small chain supermarket that carries local produce as well. I bought their corn and tomatoes by the pound. True to form the supermarket corn tasted better and the tomatoes were of a much better quality plus the price was the same. Just a note of caution people bring their dogs to the market and the produce on the ground get sniffed and slobbered on.
